Ammophila wasp. Mostly red with black eyes and some parts of the abdomen and legs.

Habitat:

Semi desert.

Hi Luis This is a Sphecidae - not Ichneumonidae. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sphecidae I don't know the genera very well - but might be something like Ammophila http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ammophila_(wasp) Problem is that there may be other things that look quite similar.
