Field Notes
Description:
The snake is small, approximately 7 inches long. The color is brown with no pattern. It has lightly keeled scales (which gives it its common name), and a light colored underside. The snake was inside of our residence and we used the bucket to return it to the backyard environment.
Habitat:
The snakes lives in the natural leaf litter which is used to mulch the plants and scrubs in the landscaping. The snake is an integral part to our eco-friendly backyard. It balances the insect population. The habitat is in the second picture.
