Field Notes

Description:

It is a herbaceous annual or biennial plant growing to 60 cm tall and is in the Carnation Family (Caryophyllaceae). Small pink flowers clustered at the top with white spots and serrated edges at the points. Leaves and stem are slightly hairy.

Habitat:

Spotted in a grassy meadow.

Notes:

Native to Europe it has become naturalised in United States.
