Field Notes

Description:

This moth was all but invisible against a cedar beam. I didn't realize it in the night, but it has orange and black underwings. It is about 2 cm long. Family Erebidae (Noctuidae).

Habitat:

Came to an ultraviolet light in the garden, San Cristobal de Las Casas, 2,200 meters.
