Field Notes

Description:

Almost midnight in the northern beaches of Unst (still daylight at this time of the year due to the Northern latitude) we could spot several families of eider females with their babies approaching the shoreline to rest in the rocks of the beach.
First time I see the babies in real life!

Habitat:

North Atlantic Sea.

Thanks venusflytrap! Indeed they are common eiders, so I have added it to the name of the spotting. Do you see them in your area? You have many nice bird pictures. I am going to follow you :-)
Thanks, Mona, Maria and Debbie :-)
Thanks! It was really a nice surprise to discover these moms and babies at the beach.
