Field Notes

Description:

Family: Limacodidae (Slug moths) Total length: 10-14 mm. (See photo for measurement in inches.) Brown FW has a wide apple green median band. Brown ST area is wide. Thorax and head are apple green. Hairy. Hosts: Deciduous trees including apple, dogwood, elm and oak.

Habitat:

Yard and open woods and meadows/fields wherever host tree are located.
