Barred owl

This barred owl resides at a small bird sanctuary at Downs Park in Pasadena, Maryland, where they house injured birds that can no longer live in the wild. Its size is about 20-24" (50-60cm) with a 3 1/2 foot wingspan. A chunky brown and gray owl with large head and dark brown eyes. Dark horizontal barring on upper chest with veritcal streaks on lower chest and belly.
