Field Notes

Description:

Another large agaric type in clumps of 3 to 6. About 90mm across the cap which was very mealy (like dry porridge) all over. Gills dense and white. Stipe was much thicker near the base and had a firm downward pointing annulus. Pushing out of hard moist soil about 5 metres away from the nearest trees.

Habitat:

In a local nature reserve adjoining a national park. Small eucalyptus trees with dense undergrowth and open grassy areas.
