Description:

About 4inches long! Saw it this morning. Never seen anything quite like it before. I'd appreciate help identifying it. Thank you in advance.

Very cool find! This is a male Eastern Dobsonfly. Those huge mandibles are only used for grasping the female during courtship/mating. They are large but harmless (and really neat!).
