Field Notes

Description:

Using the Google Lens application, I found out that this species belongs to the genus Syngonium; it is an angiosperm plant from the family of Araceae (Integrated Taxonomic Information System, n.d.). Aside from this, I also discovered that this is a variegated plant; hence, it exhibits different colors with irregular streaks. It can be perceived in the image how its common name explicitly describes the structure of the plant. It has arrow-shaped leaves with varying shades of color, such as green with a hint of pure white patches. Also, under the sunlight, the stem displays a pink hue.

Habitat:

The plant above is documented in Alpha Village, Barangay Poblacion, Alabel, Sarangani Province. It can be seen in the image that this plant is utilized as home decoration; hence, it is planted in a small pot.
