Description:
Family: Sphingidae. Subfamily: Macroglossinae. (Small Sphinx Moths). TL: 22-30 mm. Wingspan: 37-50 mm. A common clearwing with transparent FW that has a thin black border with a smooth inner edge. Apical spot and stripe along inner margin are orange. Cream-colored thorax has a brown or black dorsal stripe. Blackish abdomen has a broken yellow band near tip. Bumble bee mimic. Hosts: Snowberry, dogbane and honeysuckle. Adults will feed on their larval plants.
Habitat:
Meadows, yards, fields, woods-edges wherever good source is found.
Notes:
2nd one spotted in a different area of my yard.
