Field Notes

Description:

Boletes with dark red, velvety cap about 100mm across, thick, dark red stipe gradually fading to the base, orange pored surface. Growing from grassy ground on a walking track. The gill side bruised very quickly and easily turning a dark blue-black.

Habitat:

Cathedral Ranges state park.

Notes:

Others are upside-down compared to this one. !!??
