Great blue heron hunting and wading in Futch creek during a lower tide (Wilmington, North Carolina)

Habitat:

Tidal creeks, marshlands, wetlands, saltwater & freshwater riverbanks, retention ponds, & even backyard ponds.

Notes:

Largest type of heron.
