Description:

Stictoleptura rubra is a longhorn beetle often found in pines, firs and larches in its juvenile form. Its gut contains cellulase-producing yeasts to enable xylophagy, or wood-digestion.

Habitat:

The species are found everywhere throughout European mainland, (except for Monaco, San Marino, Vatican City, and Russia). It can also be found in Turkey.
