Field Notes

Description:

Mushroom about 2 1/2 inches in diameter with what appear to be bit marks taken out of it.

Habitat:

Found in at a high altitude about 20 feet from a small white water canyon.

Notes:

The underside shot is of a different mushroom, but it appeared to be the same kind a few feet away. My brothers first thoughts were "Looks like an apple with bit marks"

Logan, can you try something out? Just break a piece off from the pores, because that stains blue when bruised in B. Regius. If not... then it's something else.
The stalk and gills look different on Boletus Regius don't they?
