"Mycalesis patnia is now considered endemic to Sri Lanka. M. junonia from India was earlier considered a subspecies of M. patnia but is now considered a distinct species (Kunte et al., 2018). There are no other subspecies of M. patnia." - van der Poorten & van der Poorten (2018) Just found this on a guide and thought to share :)
Nice one there! I think this is a male one. Females are lighter in color, more orangish. (https://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/914988038)
