Field Notes

Description:

Over the southern summer large floats of pumice washed up along the NSW coast. Amongst it all, tiny pieces to large boulders, I found this piece. At some point in the journey it had gone through tropical waters and picked up a delicate coral colony. By the time it hit Sydney the cooler water had killed the coral and, surprisingly undamaged, it washed into Long Bay.
