Field Notes

Habitat:

Lyonia Preserve, Deltona. Rosemary and Oak scrub.

Notes:

This individual was very intent on watching us watching her (?). When I blinked away some sweat and looked back into my camera, I saw nothing but feathers zooming toward me. I instinctively ducked. Our guide "Mr Steve" said "Oh don't duck! She was going to land on your head. They like blonde hair!"

Nuts nuts nuts nuts nuts. I missed my chance to have a scrub jay on my head! Next time I won't duck.
