Description:

A very large, fat, black bee with a yellow hairy thorax.

Habitat:

Adjacent to a small stream. Altitude 900m.

Notes:

This bee spends no more than a second at each bloom, making it a very difficult subject to photograph. The bees tend to make a circuit of the blooms, best to observe, pick a bloom and wait for the bee to come around again.
