Description:

-the leaves are rounded/heart shaped and have distinctive veining
-they are 4-8 inches long and 2-4 inches wide
-they start at a reddish/purple color int he spring and turn to green in the summer
-deciduous
-bark is a smooth grey/brown color

Habitat:

-grows best in moist, well-draining soil
-native to North America
-can grow in full sun or partially shaded areas
