Field Notes

Description:

Short fig tree with hard hairy fruits and soft hairy leaves with a rough bumpy surface. Inside the fruit is full of hairs making it only edible to certain kind of animals.

Habitat:

Crocker Range, montane forest area. Endemic to Northern Borneo's mountains only.

Notes:

Borneo have around 150 native fig species and I have documented around one third of it.
