I would guess stout moray based on the shape of the head + coloring. Stout Morays come in many colors, but the other species around Hawaii don't come in this color! Check my reference.

I think you're correct Ava T-B, there are several types though and I'm not sure if this is a Snowflake Moray. Hoping someone can help identify the subfamily.
