We have the blacks here - in fairly good numbers. Elsewhere in Oregon they are fairly scarce, so on the birder's lists one sees Black phoebe sightings reported with great excitement. I think they are beginning to spread N, however, along with everything else
Thanks , Karen. We were walking on a trail and there were 2 phoebes. The black and this one. My husband thought that the Black was prettier and he said ,"Photograph this one" I said "are you kidding?! this is a Says phoebe! I rarely get to see it!"I think that both the phoebes are lovely. Flycatchers in fact are beauties.
That's one I haven't seen. really cool bird.
