Description:

Large, all-green grasshopper with pointed head, orange antennae, and semi-circular crest on pronotum (top of thorax) are all distinctive characteristics.

Habitat:

Degraded shortgrass prairie habitat: weedy, with Giant Blazingstar (a host plant for this grasshopper), sunflower, cactus, yucca....
