Description:

Family: Sphingidae Subfamily: Sphinginae (large sphinx moths). Total length: 35-40 mm. Wingspan: 65-75 mm. Grayish brown FW has inconspicuous wavy blackish lines. Black dashes extend from median area to apex. Black-edged reniform sport (sometimes double) is white. Hosts: Bee balm, mint, bugleweed, and sage.

Habitat:

Gardens and yards.

Notes:

It pays to get to know your neighbors. They found this moth and wondered what it was. Attached to a paint stick.
