Field Notes

Description:

Red Tailed Hawk with a captured Squirrel.

Habitat:

Near the Opequon Creek in Jefferson County, WV.

Notes:

I was driving back from the Opequon Creek and this Red-Tailed Hawk flew over my truck and landed by a railing. I stopped driving and pulled out my iPhone and started shooting away when I noticed it had the Squirrel! It was my lucky weekend (July 13th 2013) for bird-spotting. Two birds of prey! 1 with prey! (Check my other spotting for the other).
