Field Notes

Description:

Tall tree with a straight trunk - grows to 100'. Leaves can have five or seven lobes and are generally star shaped. Can easily be distinguished from maple leaves by the bright green leaf stems and the crushed leaves have a pungent menthol lemon smell.

Habitat:

Mixed forest.
