Field Notes

Description:

Brownish-mauve clumps of irregularly branching fruit bodies make up this attractive coral fungus.

Habitat:

Spotted on damp forest floor - wet eucalyptus forest

Notes:

The slightly powdery surface on more mature parts is said to be caused by protruding cystidia and trapped spores. Spore print is white.
