Description:

The California Coastal Rose Society says this is rather rare. Very happy about the find. It could also be the California Wild Rose (Rosa californica).

Habitat:

Coastal scrub

Notes:

Not sure if this was purposefully planted here.

Unfortunately I do not, but I will go back to get another picture. Thanks for the suggestions.
Looks like Gardenia, or "Crepe Jasmine"...hard to tell though- do you have a closer photo of the leaves?
