Field Notes

Notes:

This medium butterfly was very hard to photograph, perhaps because of the silver on it and that I had to use the camera flash.

Species ID Suggestions

Emerald Moth

Chloropteryx sp.

The Geometrinae are usually called Emerald Moths. Colors is sometimes also depending on the light angulation and use of flash. So, you can take Emerald Moth as common name or if you feel more comfortable you take Geometrid Moth. http://mothphotographersgroup.msstate.edu/species.php?hodges=7075
Chloropteryx, looks very much like mine, it was green but with a lot of silver and the markings were exactly the same, I guess the color can change some with all that silver. Thank you bayucca.
Geometridae, Geometrinae, Chloropteryx sp.. Could be Chloropteryx opalaria, but there are many others of the same genus around.
