Field Notes

Description:

Looks like bright golden rod from far; unopened buds on the terminal end of the spike are dark brown-green.

Habitat:

Growing wild.

Notes:

Apparently the flowers distinctly smell of peanut butter, which inspired the common name Peanut butter Senna. So regret not smelling it!
