Description:

These lovely fire pinks did not get the memo that they are supposed to have late spring blooms! I found these among the early spring ephemerals this year.

Habitat:

Fire Pink grows in open woods and rocky deciduous slopes in eastern North America, ranging as far north as extreme southern Ontario.

AL, AR, DE, FL, GA, IA, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, MD, MI, MN, MO, MS, NC, NY, OH, OK, PA, SC, TN, VA, WI, WV

Notes:

Spotted growing along road to Cooper's Furnace Day Use Area at Allatoona Dam Cartersville, GA
