Field Notes

Description:

Brown Caterpillar on my sunflower. About the size of a large full-grown cutworm except it is brown, not green. It doesn't seem to be feeding right now, just walking around. I am guessing at its size it's looking for a place to make a coccoon.

Notes:

This is a larvae for a moth.

Ok, so it is a Spodoptera of some kind, just a different variety. Cool. I was good to remove it then. Thanks!
