Field Notes

Description:

An exposed gnarly stem gall with what appears to be mutiple chambers spotted on a branch. There was a similar gall, about 5 cms long on another branch. This one also seemed to have been torn open.

Habitat:

Spotted on a large fruited Yellow Gum in a botanic garden - Cranbourne Royal Botanic Garden

Notes:

Thanks to my husband Mark who spotted this one. I will be posting this elsewhere for expert advice. Would love to know how the stem got exposed. <br> I will leave it under Arthropods for now.
