This is the Guatemalan subspecies of the Steller's jay: http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/17295303
I have seen blue Jays in the US and Canada, and although this resembles them I think its a different species. The location is accurate. Ive spotted them in few occasions in hikes around lake Atitlan, Guatemala, but they are extremely shy, quick, and flink. They also make a very peculiar sound in a crescendo manner that is what originally grabbed my attention. Let me know if you experts out there, can help me out here. Thank you
Strange someone deleted the same suggestion I made earlier. I mentioned I don't see any Blue Jays spotted in this area. So either it has strayed or the photo was taken somewhere else.
Looks like a Blue Jay. https://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Blue_Jay/id
