Field Notes

Description:

Large moth or butterfly with black body and central wing triangle surrounded by orange V and then black with pale stripe. Wing edges frilled.
Apologies for the photo, only IPhone and I couldn’t get closer due to the very large orb spider between me and this one.

Habitat:

Tropical rainforest, autumn.

Notes:

Sat completely still for some time. Sadly not so for the fabulous Ulysses butterflies I saw and did not get any pictures of.
