Description:

Author of name: Carey, Jennifer H.
Description: Grows 3.3 ft per year between the ages of 15 and 45 years, with slowed growth afterwards. Diameters of larger ones are 3–5 ft. Have long, slender needles in groups of five.
Classification: Kingdom: Plantae Phylum: Pinophyta Class: Pinopsida Order: Pinales Family: Pinaceae
Distribution: Grows in Nearctic Temperate broadleaf and mixed forests Biome of eastern North America.
It produces it's own food through photosynthesis. It grows in the front of our yard and has mild competition for sunlight from two surrounding trees.
