Field Notes

Description:

Female of the species. Light golden brown with dark markings on abdomen, clear wings with smudge of gold near base. Double wing set. Feeds on insects caught on the wing. Approx. 30mm in size. Also known as Common Percher or Red Percher. Exists close to or some distance from still or slow moving water sources.

Habitat:

Found in a variety of habitats throughout Australia. This one in dry forest near water source in north east NSW, resting on dry stick near ground.
