Field Notes

Description:

absolutely the tallest stalked mushroom I've ever seen, almost 25cm tall

Habitat:

tropical rainforest

Notes:

I had seen this mushroom a few times around Kubah national park, many of them in better shape than this one, but this was so tall, I had to get some photos of it.

Species ID Suggestions

Shaggy Stalked Bolete

Heimioporus betula

Thanks gully. It does look a lot like that but I don't think the stalk is deeply reticulate. It doesn't match the photos I see online. Possibly another species of Heimioporus?
Awesome mushroom. My ID should be correct as long as the stalk is deeply reticulate, can't quite tell from the picture.
