Small moth or butterfly. Maybe an inch or two wide.

Front yard with bushes

Saw this guy flutter past me, then when I ran after it (with my phone/camera) it landed on my knee!!!!

Thanks bayucca! The wings sure look right, but the head looks a little different. But I don't have any better ideas, so I changed it!! Thanks!
Please, verify! I think it is the Silvery Checkerspot, the white spots on the hindwing are quite typical.
