Compridos, medindo entre 8 e 14 cm (sem contar com as pernas dianteiras!), de cores geralmente bem escuras, variando entre o marrom e o preto. Outra característica, essa sendo diferencial, são os cercos (apêndices abdominais, de uso sensorial), estes possuindo um formato denominado "foliar" (achatado, semelhante a uma folha).

Long, measuring between 8 and 14 cm (not counting the front legs!), Usually very dark color, ranging from brown and black. Another characteristic are the cercii (abdominal appendages), those having a format called "leaf" (flattened like a sheet).
