Field Notes

Description:

Found this cute little jumping spider in my house, probably seeking shelter after the big storm we had last night. Very cute (as usual with jumping spiders), but I didn't get any good abdomen shots, so ID-ing will pretty much be impossible.

It is difficult some times. I've found several small, immature ones that throw me for a loop.
Thanks! I was thinking it was maybe Habronattus or a genus that I'd never heard of. I've never seen this species before, so I don't know. Phidippus are generally a little bigger than this one, and, in my case, Phidippus sp. have bigger abdomens than cephalothoraxes, and this one was the other way around. I'm really not sure though.
Hard to tell without an abdomen shot. Looks like one from the genus Phidippus. Great shot!
