Description:
The brimstone moth is an insect with bright yellow wings and hair covering its body. Wings also contain brown patches centered in white lining the edges. At rest wings may be folded flat or perpendicular to body line.
Habitat:
Larval habitats include birch, blackthorn and currant among many others
Notes:
The moth gets it's name from it's sulphur yellow colour, with brimstone being another name sulphur. This moth is commonly seen between summer and early autumn in the UK.
