Field Notes

Description:

Semi-aquatic medium-sized turtle with shell length of 6 inches (15.24 cm). Shell-like design on shell. Orange and black skin on legs Black claws.. Underside is orange and black. Feeds on variety of vegetation, earthworms, slugs and insects.

Habitat:

On bank of brook in mud.

Notes:

Species of special concern. Rare sighting. 1/2 the size of another North American Wood Turtle I found earlier the same week.
