Field Notes

Description:

Head and abdomen are black. The thorax is covered with dense yellowish-brown hairs. Wings are dark, but transparent. Overall size ~ 1 inch long.

Habitat:

Spotted in a large, open field that was full of purple loosestrife and milkweed.
