Description:

A hairy plant with a short, dense cluster of terminal 2-lipped flowers that are yellow and red in color. Long, basal leaves that are deeply divided into toothed lobes.

Habitat:

Growing in a wet, deciduous forest near a small pond.

Notes:

The genus and common names refer to a superstition that livestock would become infested with lice if they ate this plant.
