Florida skippers can be a beast to ID from photos, but I'm fairly good with sulphurs. I'll take a look at your spottings and do my best when I get a chance Rosa :).
Sorry for eavesdropping, but that is awesome to hear Musicwolf! Do you have tips for identifying Sulphurs and Skippers? I have a few that I have yet to identify and could use the help especially. :D
I grew up in Central Florida (30 years) and raised butterflies in my home (10 years) ;). I love seeing your pictures from "home." Florida butterflies are some of the few critters that I actually know a decent bit about - lol.
I am in awe of your knowledge Musicwolf....thank you as always!
Duskywings can be difficult to ID, but the spot pattern is a dead ringer for a Horace's or Juvenal's, and this guy lacks the gray mottling on the forewing that a Juvenal would have. Also, you can just see the white line over the eyes that distinguish this one as a Horace's Duskywing. I love these little guys.
