Field Notes

Description:

Bee with bright orange end section and furry yellow head

Habitat:

Lavendar, high desert climate

Notes:

These bees are big and agile spending less time on a flower than regular honey bees. How would I know this? I tried to take a picture. The honey bee stays on the flower and poses and this much larger bee only stops briefly and not long enough for me to get a picture.
