Field Notes

Description:

Small fragile looking lizard. Black spot behind the head and gold yellow markings on the "wings"

Habitat:

Near Sungei Buloh, Wetland, mangroves and nature reserve. Singapore

Notes:

Out on a school trip one of the mothers spotted this lizard on the path. i picked it up so I could show the children and then I noticed that it seemed very passive as if hurt. On closer look he has a bit of discolouration around its eye. I ran back to the observation area and handed it over to the field guides there for them to take care of and put back in the forest.
Thanks Mrs Araujo for taking the picture and Mrs Khaou for spotting it.

Thank you Lauren and Gilma. Lauren I actually have seen them glide quite often. They really are fast and if you are not consciously looking for them it just looks like a fallen leaf from the corner of your eye. I guess that is why so many people do not see them. If you are ever in Asia just look up when you walk though the forest ( We saw them in dry area's like rubber tree fields or hot mangroves ) They will glide from tree to tree. Let me know if ever you see one! Yes Gilma so do. Next time when I am there I will ask if they remember.
Thank you hernandezwol99 If you like this picture check out my other spotting http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/7731611 I like that one much more. It is a little dragon!
