41.0534, -73.5387
Field Notes
Description:
TINY! !0.5cm
Habitat:
On an aster leaf along a gravel walk.
RAPPEL out of the trees EN MASSE every spring.
This species is found on Oak which is a common feature of our tree canopy.
Notes:
I was actually trying to photograph a much larger inchworm on this leaf, when I tried to hold it in place and ended up sailing the inchworm off the leaf to a different adventure (on she went) only to discover that this TINY guy was also on the very same leaf and was acting tough, Ridgedly extending its body in the long stick like maneuver. IS it trying to mimic a stick? behaviorly speaking???
